I thought it would be interesting for everybody discover what the best selling Italian coffee is on Amazon.com, so off I went on an Italian coffee hunt.
The list only contains coffees genuinely roasted in Italy.
Here’s what I noticed from the list:
- Lavazza coffee blends occupy the top seven spots.
- Illy Caffe is the only other genuine Italian coffee on the top ten.
- My favorite Italian coffee is in second place – Lavazza’s Crema e Gusto Ground Coffee, which pleased me.
I always start my work day with an espresso. It’s wakes me up and gets me in the mood for work!

What’s your favorite Italian coffee? And how do you drink it? Espresso style or in mug sized doses?
Why not acquire a few collectible Italian espresso cups to add to the Italian experience? I wrote this Espresso Cups for Christmas post thinking that Italian coffee cups might make an interesting Christmas present – but they make an interesting and original gift for many occasions – especially if you have friends who are Italian coffee aficionados.

The optimal coffee is not only a matter of taste, but also dependent on the temperature and pressure and type of the machine you use to make coffee.
We drink both espresso and cappuchino and as our DeLonghi MagnificaS has an integrated grinder and one container for beans we need a type that has enough edge (Robusta) for cappuchino and is soft enough for Espresso. After a lot if testing we ended up using Pascucchi Golden that I order from their webshop to get it fresh. They have also a nice decaf instant type in one cup doses.

There are thousands of great espresso brands in Italy. Each town has their own local roasts that are popular. But as pointed out here – http://thecoffeelocator.com/info/about , 70% of Italian coffee exports are all from 3 major companies. it is hard to find real italian coffee outside of Italy

Unfortunately the author of this article limited his search to amazon.com only. There are a lot of Italian roasted coffees available in the USA. Just to name a few:
Diemme Caffe
Passalacqua
New York Caffe
Pellini
Izzo
La Brasiliana Marfisa – my current favorite

The author, me, only search on Amazon for a reason – to see what the top selling Italian coffee was on Amazon!
I’m sure there are plenty of other Italian coffees which sell well, but are not top sellers on Amazon.
Thanks for the list, Matthew – now please tell us all where can be found.
Best,
Alex

Every time I think “gosh, this is great coffee,” the sign behind the bar reads “Cagliari” so that would have to be my choice, although you can’t buy it.

Guizzardi is my favorite coffee! It’s a small family run coffee company and torrefazione in the provincia of Bologna. Their various roasted blends are all really delicious and with a growing list of fans around the world, they now even distribute internationally.

Illy is the best, it is nearly impossible to make a bad cup of Illy espresso. Lavazza rosso or crema gusto are great too, especially for a caffe latte or cappucino in the morning. I have had them in the US and Italy, and while not an expert, they seem to be the same quality and roast.
